The Future PAC is the first national political network with a primary
focus on providing support and funding to elect women of color to
public office. Since 1993, African American women have enjoyed the
strongest voting block percentage in the nation, yet very few Black
women have been elected to national political offices. At the federal
level, only 14 of the 435 seats in the House of Representatives are
held by Black women. There are 7382 state legislators across the
Nation; of that number, 189 are African American women.
